Photo Contest

Sorry it has been a while, I went out of town for a few days and didn’t take the computer. I was in White Lake, NC to watch my girlfriend run a half Ironman distance triathlon (1.2 swim, 56 bike, 13.1 run). She finished in 6:14.

The website is having a photo contest. Our first photo contest is of your first running photo. Email me your first picture of you running/racing (or the earliest picture that you have) with a brief description if you feel the need, by Saturday, May 15th to: anthony.bruno412@gmail.com. I will post all pictures received, then you can vote for your favorite (or have all of your family and friends vote for your’s). The winner will be announced on Tuesday, June 1st. Not only will he or she have the title of “Greatest Running Photo Ever” but also will receive a t-shirt or hat of their choice (options will be posted before June 1st).

Tony Bruno, 1980 Apollo 10K

My first road race was a hilly 10K that took place on the 4th of July in 1980. This picture is about 100 meters before the finish. My 14 year old self is proudly sporting my Steve Blass Baseball Camp shirt and I don’t know if you can see, but I am wearing some nice leather Nike tennis shoes (I did tape the laces so they wouldn’t come untied) and tube socks. I finished in 48 minutes something.
